Where is Son Tra Peninsula located?
It is situated in Son Tra District, Danang City, approximately 10 km northeast of the city center. The total area of the peninsula is 60 km2. From the summit of Ban Co Son Tra, you can enjoy panoramic views of Danang, Son Tra Peninsula, Hai Van Pass, and Danang Bay.

Visiting and praying at peaceful Linh Ung Pagoda
Along Hoang Sa Road to Son Tra Peninsula, Linh Ung Pagoda will be the first destination. The pagoda has magnificent architecture, perfectly combining spirituality, nature, and modernity. The most notable feature is the 17-story, 67-meter-high Guanyin statue, recognized as the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam. The statue lies on the mountain, facing the East Sea, praying for a calm ocean and blessing the fishermen at the foot of the mountain. From here, you can admire the entire Monkey Island.
Admire the thousand-year-old Banyan tree
Leaving Linh Ung Pagoda and heading north of the peninsula, tourists will encounter the thousand-year-old banyan tree, known as the ancient tree of the mountainous region. According to surveys, the banyan tree is over 1,000 years old. It is about 26 meters tall and surrounded by 26 roots, forming a strong and interwoven frame.
Check in at Obama beach
From Linh Ung Pagoda, following Hoang Sa Road for about 1 kilometer, you will reach Obama beach. At there, you can immerse yourself in a serene atmosphere, blending with nature and the deep blue sea and sky. This place is known as the mesmerizing virtual living paradise of Danang. With its blue sea, white sand, and golden sunshine, you can enjoy various exciting water sports and adventurous activities organized on this rocky beach, such as high-speed canoeing, jet skiing, kayak towing, or even diving to admire coral reefs.
Explore the wildlife on Son Tra Peninsula
Son Tra rises 693 meters above sea level. It is a sanctuary for rare and precious wild animals such as deer, monkeys, and the queen of primates – the Red-Shanked Douc Langur, along with captivating natural landscapes.
Douc langurs usually eat in the early morning and early afternoon, always in the herd. Food consists of wild leaves on the tops of tall trees. Don’t forget to bring binoculars to get a closer looking at this animal.
